Apart from being an outstanding institution in music education, the RNCM is one of the top venues in the region, with a jam packed events calendar of nearly 300 performances a year.

Whether it’s collaborating with the BBC Philharmonic and University of Manchester, bringing the Imperial War Museum alive with music inspired by war and conflict, providing a chorus for the Hallé, bringing in hundreds of cellists to the RNCM Manchester International Cello Festival, and not forgetting outstanding performances by its own ensembles and soloists, the RNCM is very much part of the city’s collective consciousness.

The RNCM has grown from strength to strength – in late 2006 the college was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers, and July 2007 will see the official opening of our new wing on Oxford Road dedicated to furthering the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and providing a new home for the Manchester Camerata.
